Business Opportunities

Approximately one dozen prime business locations in downtown Fulton were on display Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The open house was part of the community's Brick District plan to revitalize the downtown area.

"Area realtors and building owners have agreed to open the doors of these properties, which are ready and waiting for the right businesses to and adds that the Brick District has already taken steps to make the downtown area attractive to local businesses and customers.  "Court Street between 5th and 6th streets, now boasts new benches, trash receptacles and light poles" Hackmann added. "In addition, new businesses will benefit from the Art House, which is bringing in new customers who are interested in viewing exhibits or wish to learn how to paint and create jewelry".

Hackmann said the Brick District members are also confident that the renovated Brick District Playhouse, the former Fulton Theatre, will attract new customers during the evening and weekend.  He adds that the Playhouse Bistro, set to open in October, is already creating a buzz in the community.  "Now is the perfect time for new businesses to join this exciting renaissance of downtown Fulton. Community members are being very pro-active to ensure that Fulton's downtown is an inviting place to shop, seek entertainment, and enjoy great food" Hackmann said.

To prove this point, Brian Warren, owner of Well Read Books, has been appointed to a commission by Fulton Mayor LeRoy Benton and asked to create a packet of information targeted to prospective new downtown businesses.  "The packet contains economic and demographic information related to the downtown area plus details of the culture of the Fulton community", Warren said.  In addition, Warren notes that the FADC has received $750,000 in revolving low interest loans, which can be passed on to new businesses.
